Aiming to fulfil a Fardh Kifayah: community wide obligation, Ibn Sina Society provides an outlet for Muslims to practice and elevate their spirituality.
We host social events, educational workshops and evening gatherings throughout the academic year continually pursuing Asabiyyah : social cohesion, in all of our endeavours.

Ibn sina • Avicenna [ca. 970–1037]
Our Name
Our society is named after reputable medieval polymath who authored Al Qanun fi Tibb, The Canon of Medicine, a magnum opus in holistic, integrative and diagnostic medicine. Ibn Sina flourished during the Graeco-Arabic translation movement where the medical systems of Galen and Hippocrates were translated into Arabic thus spurring the intellectual revolution referred to as the Islamic Golden Age. Our society preserves and extends Ibn Sina’s legacy of healing with knowledge and faith.

Our Logo
Our feather represents the Qalam which is the first creation of Allah after the universe. It is a symbol that signifies wisdom and a connection between the owner, the Creator, and the bird from which the feather came. Further, the feather/pen can be interpreted as a foundation of scientific and technological progress; a tool for knowledge.

Healing • Knowledge • Faith
